Akashima Prefecture (赤島県 Akashima Ken ) is a prefecture in the eastern Tokai Region of Nakahara. The capital is the city of Akashima, Nakahara's 4th largest city in term of population.
History
2014 Tokai Earthquake and Tsunami
In July 26 2014, a 9.3 magnitude scale of earthquake hit eastern coast of Nakahara affecting major part of Akashima Prefecture. Akashima prefecture was the most affected area by the earthquake, causing damage more than $206 billions damage in Akashima prefecture alone.
Geography
Akashima prefecture located in the eastern coast of Nakahara. Most population located in Tokai plains which lays in eastern part of prefecture as well as part of Akiya Prefecture and Minamizaki Prefecture. Northwest part of Prefecture consist of mountainous area bordering Akashima with Watase Prefecture.
